Hancock Movie Critic (Heavy Spoilers Inside)
Sorry guys,I know it's kinda late for me to review this movie. Just couldn't get myself to sit down and blog about this, I guess the procrastination is in season. Frankly, I thought this show would really be different like coming out with new ideas or so since hollywood is typically running out of ideas (we can see they are adopting comics "Marvel", Japanese horror "The Ring" and soon manga "Dragon Ball"). To me this story of "Hancock" is another version of "pick & mix". Meaning they are "picking" up a few storylines from other movies and "mixing" it to make a new movie which is called Hancock. I came up with the conclusion that Hancock has the similarities with the two movie listed below:
Superman : I'm sure this is pretty obvious to everyone. Having superhuman abilities like strength and levitation that's the trademark of Superman (aka Clark Kent). Similar to Superman, Hancock is like the only one earth (even though later he found out that he wasn't really alone) and wanting to find out about his true origins.
City of Angels : Yes, the show stars Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan. It's a classic with Goo Goo Dolls singing the "Iris" which is still popular even till this day. In this show, it tells of an Angel falling in love and the consequence of falling in love is become human which will lead to aging followed by death. For Hancock, they did mentioned they are immortals at first and people thought they were angels. However, if one of them were to fall in love with another (angel), they will lose their powers, become vulnerable and start aging like a human. Another similarity is that, in the end the two destined lovers could not be together (Nicholas Cage could not be with Meg Ryan because she died in an accident in the end, Will Smith could not be with Charlize Theron because if they stay too close one fo them will die).
In this case, the movie "Hancock" actually gave Angels the power of Superman. And love is like the kryptonite. Since both of the Angels still love each other, they decided to separate so that each other could live longer (ironic ain't it?).
All and all, this show is more to drama then Superhero action. If you guys are into drama & lovey dovey movies, go for it. But if you guys are into Superhero movies like Ironman, forget it! You might get disappointed! =P

So it is a good movie then with a bit of irony for everyone, those movies you mentioned are good movies in there own right so this is a movie I will enjoy for its underlying themes, just the way I like it no happy endings!
Unrequited love, a lonely life, an existence not worth living sounds like happy times to me!
